Common questions
The tuner isn't detecting my guitar.
Make sure microphone access is enabled for Dad's Guitar Tuner in iPhone Settings. Play one string at a time near your iPhone's microphone.
Why does the app need microphone access?
The microphone is used to detect the pitch of your guitar strings so the tuner can determine whether a note is sharp, flat, or in tune.
Apple Watch help
Can I tune directly on Apple Watch?
Yes. The standalone Watch tuner lets you tune on your wrist and provides haptic feedback when a string is in tune.
The Watch tuner is not detecting a note.
Open the tuner on your Watch and allow microphone access if prompted. Keep the app visible, move close to the guitar, and play one string at a time in a quiet room. Check that clothing is not covering the Watch microphone. If it still does not respond, close and reopen the app, then restart the Watch.
I cannot feel the in-tune feedback.
Check that haptic alerts are enabled in your Apple Watch settings and that the Watch fits snugly against your wrist. Hold a single note steady until the tuner shows it is in tune. If the visual indicator works but you still feel no feedback, email support with your Watch model and watchOS version.
I do not see the app on my Watch.
Check the Watch app on your iPhone for the app's installation status, or search for Dad's Guitar Tuner in the App Store on your Watch. If it is already installed, check for an app update.
